That information does not contain any personally identifiable information. Specific types of anonymous information are described below:

IP Addresses

For each visitor to the Website, whenever possible, our Web server automatically recognizes the visitor's domain name or IP address. Although it is not our practice to link IP addresses to your personally identifiable information, we reserve the right to use IP addresses to identify a user when we feel it is necessary to protect the compelling interest of our business, the Website, users of the Website or others or to comply with laws, court orders, or law enforcement requests.

Use of Cookies

AKIS may employ a cookie, or small piece of information stored on a file in the AKIS User’s browser or hard drive, which enables Web servers to "identify" that AKIS User each time he/she initiates a session on a AKIS Web site. Unless the AKIS User has adjusted his/her browser settings to refuse cookies, the AKIS system will issue a cookie when the AKIS User visits a AKIS Web site.

Here is what AKIS Users need to know about cookies:

  • First Party cookies are set by the AKIS Web site you are visiting.
  • Third Party cookies are set by a domain outside of the AKIS Web sites.
  • Persistent cookies remain on your computing device for the period specified in the cookie and are activated each time you revisit the website that set such cookie.
  • Session cookies remain on your computing device until you close your browser window, at which point they are automatically deleted.

While AKIS Users may block cookies at any time by changing their browser settings, it is important to note that First Party cookies may be necessary in order to identify AKIS Users and ensure they fully access and use the content and features on the AKIS Web sites.

AKIS uses cookie technology to enable registered AKIS Users (i) to move quickly and securely through access-controlled areas of the AKIS Web sites; and (ii) to take advantage of certain useful features on the sites.

First and Third party cookies do not store any AKIS User Personal Information on the AKIS Web sites; they are simply identifiers. By continuing to use the AKIS Web sites, AKIS Users consent to the placement of these cookies on their computing device in accordance with the terms above.

Pixel Tracking

AKIS may employ a common technique usually referred to as "pixel tracking" to measure the effectiveness of marketing and advertisements, as well as compile aggregate usage statistics. Pixel tracking, which may be used in connection with advertisements on other sites, on the Website or in e-mail messages, involves the use of pixel tags (also known as "clear gifs," "Web beacons" or "1-by- 1 gifs") that are not visible to the user of the site and consist of a few lines of computer coding. For example, if you visit the Website from an advertisement on another site, the pixel tag will reference the cookie you received when you clicked on the advertisement. The pixel tag also may register this activity with a business partner to allow us to count the number of times or when an advertisement is accessed. This data is collected for use in our marketing and research. Personally identifiable information about you is not collected by pixel tracking, nor is any tracking information generated from the pixel tag allowed to be used for any other purpose other than to report Website activity to us.

Third Party Advertising

We use third-‐party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our Website. These companies may use information (not including your name, address, email address, or telephone number) about your visits to this and other Web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services of interest to you.

Other Information

We may also request other personally identifiable information from you, or you may affirmatively provide us with such information. As a general matter, we try to limit the information we gather to the minimum information we need to perform the applicable services and to improve your experience on the Website and with our Software. If you send an e-mail to the Website or otherwise affirmatively provide us with information beyond what we request, we will treat such information as having your consent to collect, retain and use such information for purposes reasonably associated with the purpose for which you provided the information. For example, we may retain a copy of the e-mail and any personally identifiable information you may have supplied in the e-mail with respect to a user service question to help us evaluate our service, train our employees and provide better service to our users.

WHO IS COLLECTING THIS INFORMATION

We collect the user information described above by means of your use of, and the features, of our Website and our Software. For example, information is collected in connection with online transactions, with the registration of users, and with the provision of information and/or services.

If the same information about you is gathered from the Website and also from other sources with different privacy policies, AKIS may elect, in its sole discretion, to treat such information in accordance with the privacy policy that least restricts our use and disclosure of such information.

When you use the Website, you may be linked or directed to other third party sites outside the Website that are beyond our control. For example, you might click on a hyperlink that will take you off the Website. Third party Websites may have a privacy policy different from our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for any actions or privacy policies of such third parties. In addition, third parties who assist us with pixel tracking may collect a limited amount of information to help us measure the effectiveness of ads, usually by placing cookies on your hard drive.
